Setting Up Your Ongo Compact
Before you can start analyzing semen samples with your Ongo Compact, you'll need to set up the device. This article will guide you through the initial setup process, including charging the device, inserting the pen drive, and familiarizing yourself with the device's buttons, sockets, and indicators.
Charging and Powering On
- Get familiar with Ongo Compact here.
- Place your Ongo Compact on a flat, clean, and dry surface.
- Insert the included pen drive into the USB 2.0 socket
- Connect the provided charger to the power supply socket
- The charging indicator LED will light up:
- Blue: Charging
- Green: Fully charged
- When fully charged (indicator LED turns green), you may disconnect the charger. A full charge provides 2-2.5 hours of battery life.
- Press the Power ON/OFF button to turn on the device.
Device Buttons, Sockets, and Indicators
Ongo Compact features several buttons, sockets, and indicators that are essential for operating the device:
- Power ON/OFF button: Turns the device on and off.
- Protection lid for slide stage: Protects the slide stage when not in use.
- Charging indicator: Indicates the charging status (blue for charging, green for fully charged).
- Screen: Displays the user interface and live view during analysis.
- Power supply socket: Connects to the provided charger for powering the device.
- USB 2.0 socket: Accommodates the pen drive for data storage.
- Heated slide stage with illumination: Holds and heats the test slide during analysis.
- Push buttons: Used for navigating the user interface and adjusting focus and illumination.
Start Screen and Menu Navigation
Upon powering on the device, you will see the "Start" screen, which displays:
- Ongo logo
- Preset species
- Software version next to the species
- "Ongo Connected" and the device's IP address
- "Start" button above the left end button
- "Shut Down" button above the right end button
Use the push buttons to navigate the user interface:
- Left end button: Selects the "Start" option to begin the semen analysis process.
- Right end button: Selects the "Shut Down" option to power off the device.
