Battery Replacement

To ensure your Ongo Vision device is always ready for use, it's important to understand how to properly charge the battery and be aware of factors that can affect its performance. This article will guide you through the process of charging your device and provide information on battery specifications and optimal operating conditions.

Charging the Ongo Vision Device

  1. Use a standard USB-C cable and charger, similar to those used for charging smartphones or tablets, to charge your Ongo Vision device.
  2. Locate the USB-C charging port at the back of the device and connect the USB-C cable.

  3. Plug the other end of the USB-C cable into a power adapter or a USB port on your computer.
  4. The battery level is indicated as a percentage in the top bar of the Ongo Vision app screen. Please note that the battery level may vary significantly due to the device's heating requirements.
  5. Once fully charged, disconnect the USB-C cable from the device and the power source.

Caution: Ensure that the charger provides the appropriate voltage and current for the device's battery specifications (Li-Ion, 18650, 3.6V, 2.6Ah) to prevent damage or suboptimal charging performance.

Battery Life and Performance

The Ongo Vision device is equipped with a Li-Ion 18650 battery (3.6V, 2.6Ah). However, battery life can vary considerably depending on usage and environmental factors, particularly temperature.

  • Heating the stage requires significant energy, especially in low-temperature conditions, which can drain the battery rapidly.
  • High external temperatures can cause the device and stage to warm up. In some cases, the stage temperature may exceed the set temperature. The device does not have a cooling function for the stage. Reliable measurements may not be possible under these conditions.

To optimize battery life and ensure accurate results, consider the following:

  • Operate the device within the recommended temperature range (0°C to 30°C or 32°F to 86°F) to minimize battery drain and maintain optimal stage temperature.
  • Be aware that extreme temperatures can significantly impact battery life and measurement reliability.
  • When not in use for extended periods, store the device with a battery level of around 50% and within the recommended temperature range.

Battery Replacement

The Ongo Vision device features a built-in rechargeable battery that is not user-replaceable. If you experience significant battery performance issues or suspect that the battery may need replacement, please contact our Customer Support team for assistance.

Our trained technicians will assess the device and provide guidance on the battery replacement process, if necessary. Do not attempt to replace the battery yourself, as this may damage the device and void the warranty.

By understanding these battery charging and performance considerations, you can ensure that your Ongo Vision device is optimally powered and ready to perform accurate semen analysis under suitable operating conditions.

Please note that the battery level of your Ongo Vision device may fluctuate quickly due to two factors:

  1. Heating: The integrated heated stage, which maintains optimal sample temperature, can drain the battery more rapidly when in use.
  2. Smartphone Connection: When connected to your smartphone via USB On-The-Go (OTG), the Ongo Vision device may receive a charging current, causing the battery level to increase.

These factors can lead to apparent inconsistencies in battery level reporting. To ensure uninterrupted operation, we recommend keeping your Ongo Vision device connected to a power source during extended periods of use.

If you have any further questions or concerns about battery charging, performance, or replacement, please consult our Troubleshooting Guide or contact our Customer Support team for assistance.
